September 2007 Newsletter – Barter Rocks the Triad!
Velocity Trade Exchange, LLC is a membership-based "barter network," committed to helping small to medium-sized businesses use barter as a tool to put power in their profits. With the Velocity Trade system, members do not barter directly with one another in the traditional way. Instead, they each have an account of "Trade Dollars" that they can spend with any other Velocity member, regardless of their need for what the other member has to offer. Members get started with a trade dollar credit line, giving them immediate buying power to purchase the goods and services they need with minimal cash out of pocket. Members gain market share and improve their profitability by becoming a provider of choice to a network of motivated buyers.

May through August were very busy months, full of Velocity! With a great response to our booth at the Piedmont Triad Business Showcase and first three networking lunches, we're quickly building a solid core group of outstanding members.
VTE is also beginning preparation for the GMA's Technology and Marketing Expo on October 11, 2007. Members interested in participating in the booth should contact us ASAP!
Members, please welcome two individuals who will be working with us on a part time basis: Karen White and Tricia Dahlstrom. Karen will be working with us on accounting and administrative projects and Tricia will be serving primarily in a brokering capacity. You may receive e-mails from them from time to time don't be surprised to see the new names!

Meet Jordan Bressler, owner of Bressler Media, Inc., the parent company of TravelHost of the Triad Magazine and Amplify Communications, a PR and marketing firm. Jordan and his wife of ten years, Jennifer, have worked hard to build their businesses quickly while managing a full life with their three children, ages 7, 5 and 18-months.
Jordan began his career as a reporter and later transitioned into the world of public relations, including six years with the Miami Heat basketball team. His journey to the Triad began when he was recruited by a former supervisor to join Lorillard as a Manager for the new External Affairs division, where he worked for six years.

In September 2006, Jordan entered the world of small business ownership by purchasing the publishing rights to TravelHost magazine's Piedmont Triad edition. He then expanded his entrepreneurial enterprise when he opened Amplify Communications in January 2007.
Other than his family, Jordan is most passionate about the spirit of entrepreneurship; knowing that with enough hard work, we can each make our dreams come to fruition. His biggest accomplishment so far is the rapid growth rate and diversity of clients that Amplify Communications has achieved. Jordan describes his future goals, "I hope for Amplify communications to become the top PR and marketing communications agency in Central North Carolina; and to add more communication-related enterprises to the Bressler Media, Inc. umbrella."

Balance Day Spa celebrated the grand opening of their new location in Kernersville on September 8, 2007. They are also busily working on an additional location in Burlington.
