Mission Statement:

VTE helps small to medium-sized Triad businesses reach new clients, improve profitability, and maximize cash flow through an organized bartering system. We operate with a high level of integrity and deliver world-class customer service. Our primary goal is to provide VTE members with a high return on investment (ROI).

A Message from the President:

VTE owner, Cathi Vogel, has enjoyed a unique career path – from Special Education teacher and part time waitress – to Office Manager of a high end specialty plumbing company – to Director of Operations of an executive search firm – to Entrepreneur.

As I look back at my career, I’m amazed at how each position I’ve held and every
professional relationship I’ve had the pleasure of experiencing has brought me to this very point. My teaching experience taught me communication and management skills which have proven to be quite useful in the business world. Working as the Office Manager for the plumbing company taught me what it takes to run and grow a relatively young small business during volatile economic times. Acting as the Director of Operations for the Executive Search firm taught me a great deal about people, sales, recruiting, as well as what it takes to run and grow a more mature business.

Each of these experiences provided me with significant insight that has paved the way for me to do what I love while running a thriving, dynamic business. The start of Velocity Trade Exchange (VTE) was nothing short of divine inspiration. I'd considered various entrepreneurial opportunities but hadn't found anything that felt quite right. During that time, I was visiting family in Wisconsin when my brother-in-law shared with me how their local trade exchange was helping him grow his business and manage his cash flow. The idea immediately "clicked" with me and I quickly began the exploration process.

The more I researched the industry, the more it resonated with my passion for networking and serving as a small business resource. Throughout this process, I began to realize just how much the Triad’s economy depends on the success of our small businesses and I knew that for our area to succeed, we needed more to foster small business growth. VTE is determined to serve as such a resource.
